The Chinese version of Riftbound holds a unique place in the game's ecosystem. It's the first language in which each set is printed, several months ahead of the English and French releases. Origins was released in China on August 1, 2025, three months before the English version in October. Spiritforged followed on December 12, 2025, two months before the English launch in February 2026. Unleashed is released on April 10, 2026, almost a month before the English release on May 8.

This chronological advantage has a direct consequence for collectors: the Chinese cards represent the first printing of each set. In the world of TCGs, first printings often have a higher long-term collectible value. This is a principle found in other card games, and Riftbound is no exception.

Beyond the printing, some Chinese cards feature variant artwork not found in the Western versions. Overnumber and promotional cards may differ between sets, creating added interest for collectors who want cards not found in English or French booster packs.

Technically, the Chinese cards are the same physical size as the English and French versions. They fit in the same sleeves and deck boxes, and are compatible in-game. The only difference is the language of the text and card names. In official tournaments, check local rules regarding permitted languages, but in casual play, there's nothing stopping you from mixing versions.

All three sets are available in Chinese. Origins offers the same pool of over 300 cards and the same 12 Legend champions (Jinx, Yasuo, Ahri, Teemo, Lee Sin, Darius, Miss Fortune, Sett, Kai'Sa, Volibear, Leona, Viktor). Spiritforged includes its 221 cards with the Equipment, Gold, Repeat, and Quick-Draw mechanics. Unleashed retains its 220+ cards, the XP system, Hunt, Ambush, and the Ultimate Baron Nashor rarity.

Note that the Chinese version does not use the same booster pack format as the English version. Two types of boosters exist. The Slim Booster contains 5 cards per pack with at least one guaranteed holo card, sold in boxes of 24 packs (120 cards total). The Jumbo Booster contains 14 cards per pack, in boxes of 12 packs (168 cards total). This is a very different format from the English display, which offers 24 packs of 14 cards (336 cards). Therefore, the distribution of rarities and pull probabilities are not directly comparable between the two editions. This is something to keep in mind if you are buying the Chinese version hoping for the same structure as the English version.

For collectors who follow card values, the Chinese editions have their own market. Some Chinese cards are traded at different prices than their English counterparts, sometimes higher for early printings in good condition, sometimes lower because European demand remains concentrated on English. It's a niche market that appeals to those who collect different versions of the same card or who are looking for less common pieces in Europe.
