Pre-built deck
Discover our pre-constructed One Piece Card Game: Official Bandai Starter Decks (ST), ready to play with 1 Leader and 50 cards, to start or strengthen your collection.
A One Piece Starter Deck is a complete archetype designed by Bandai, ready to play right out of the box: 1 Leader, 50 cards, and 10 DON!! cards, legal in official Organized Play tournaments without modification. This category includes recent Starter Decks (Gear 5 Luffy, Ace and Newgate, Egg Head) and complete bundles from ST-15 to ST-20 or ST-23 to ST-28, allowing you to test several archetypes at once. It's the perfect entry point for new players and a foundation for those who want to progress in competitive play without starting from scratch.

The Starter Deck, the Official Gateway to the One Piece Card Game
Starter Decks (identified by the code ST followed by a number) are the official pre-constructed decks published by Bandai for the One Piece Card Game. They offer the most direct entry point into the game: a player can purchase an ST, take the cards out of the packaging, and immediately play an official game without any intermediate deck-building steps. Each ST is built around a theme (crew, iconic character, manga story arc) with a coherent gameplay structure already tested by Bandai's designers.
Structure of a One Piece Deck
Unlike Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon, the One Piece Card Game uses a specific deck structure that is helpful to understand in order to interpret the contents of an ST. One Leader card is placed face up at the start of the game. It determines the color and mechanics allowed in the deck. The main deck contains 50 cards divided into Characters, Events (one-time effects), and Stages. A separate deck of 10 DON!! cards provides the resources used to pay card costs during the game. The rule of a maximum of four copies applies per card in the main deck, excluding special cards. The allowed colors are determined by the Leader; some Leaders are two-colored, allowing you to expand your palette. A Bandai Starter Deck is included with all these components ready to play.
What's in a Bandai Starter Deck
A One Piece Starter Deck box includes 1 Leader card with alternate-art finish (often more visually appealing than the booster version), 50 main deck cards (a mix of Character, Event, and sometimes Stage cards depending on the archetype), 10 DON!! cards required resource cards, an illustrated rulebook, a paper playmat printed with the official playing areas, and a turn marker depending on recent editions. The premium sleeves/deckbox/playmat combination is not included: these are products to be purchased separately from the Bandai or Ultra Pro accessory ranges.
Starter Decks in our catalog
The ST-21 Gear 5 (Luffy) is built around Luffy in his awakened Gear 5 form (Nika), a fast, offensive yellow archetype and key figure in the final Wano arc. The ST-22 Ace and Newgate is a dual-leader deck centered around the Ace/Whitebeard duo, an event-focused black archetype with a father-son theme, available in French and English. The ST-29 Egg Head is centered on the Egg Head arc of the anime, featuring recent World Government characters. The Bundle ST-15 to ST-20 is a set of six French Starter Decks covering six different archetypes, ideal for building a testing pool or organizing group games. The Bundle ST-23 to ST-28 is the English equivalent, 6 Starter Decks covering the most recent STs on the EN circuit.
Play, Modify, Build: Three Uses for a Starter Deck
Play Immediately: The deck is balanced and legal on the official Bandai Organized Play circuit; no modifications are necessary for a first game or a local tournament. Modify to Step Up to Competitive Level: Many players buy two identical Starter Decks to double up on key cards, then add 5 to 15 unit cards from booster packs to reach tournament level. A Starter Deck supplemented with a few targeted SRs is often enough to produce a competitive local deck. Explore a Color or Leader: A collector or player who is hesitating between several Leaders can buy several STs to test the different colors of the game (red, green, blue, purple, black, yellow) before investing in a complete deck structure.
Legal in Official Bandai Tournaments
The cards included in a Starter Deck are legal in Official Bandai One Piece Organized Play tournaments without restriction, subject to the official banlist regularly updated on the Bandai website. ST Leaders are sometimes less powerful than Leaders from booster packs (OP) or Premium Boosters (PRB), but an optimized ST deck can participate in any tournament on the local or national circuit.
