One Piece Card Game: The Bandai TCG That Shaked Up the Market
One Piece Card Game is a collectible card game published by Bandai since 2022. In less than two years, it has become one of the best-selling TCGs in the world, driven by the popularity of Eiichiro Oda's manga (over 500 million volumes sold) and a gameplay system that has won over both manga fans and experienced TCG players. The game was first released in Japan, then in English and French. The French version is distributed by Bandai through Asmodee.
How Does One Piece Card Game Work? Each deck is built around a Leader, a card that defines the deck's color and strategy. The Leader has its own health points and a specific effect. The game's resources are DON!!: cards that you collect each turn and attach to your characters to increase their power or activate their effects. Managing your DON!! cards is what separates a beginner from a seasoned player. Knowing when to attach cards, when to keep them in reserve, and when to use a Leader effect makes all the difference.
The game is played with five colors (Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Black), and some Leaders are two-colored. Each color has its own identity: Red is aggressive, Green controls the board, Blue manipulates events, Purple manages costs, and Black removes opposing threats. The most popular competitive decks change with each expansion.
Collecting One Piece Cards The One Piece TCG has its own rarity levels: Common (C), Uncommon (UC), Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), Secret Rare (SEC), Leader (L), Special Art (SP), and Manga Rare. Secret Rare and Manga Rare cards are the most sought-after by collectors. The artwork is original, created specifically for the game by artists commissioned by Bandai. Some feature scenes from the manga, while others offer original artwork.
French editions are particularly popular. The French-speaking community is one of the most active in Europe for this TCG, which means that French booster boxes are frequently out of stock at retailers.
One Piece products available on DestockTCG
Our main product remains the French booster box: we list each expansion as soon as it's released and do our best to maintain stock despite recurring shortages of French editions. We also offer pre-constructed boxes and decks for those who want to start playing or try a new color without building a deck from scratch.
Regarding English, sourcing has become very difficult for online stores. We sometimes manage to obtain English booster boxes, but availability is not guaranteed. To protect your One Piece cards, check out our One Piece accessories (sleeves, playmats, deck boxes).
The One Piece TCG in Competition
Bandai organizes an official competitive circuit for the One Piece Card Game: the Treasure Cups (local tournaments), the Regional Championships, and the World Championship. The metagame evolves with each expansion, and decks that dominate one format may find themselves less effective in the next. The game rewards both knowledge of the card pool and real-time adaptation to the opponent's strategy.
