The third main expansion in the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution series, Perfect Balance (series code ME03), features Mega Zygarde-ex, the third Legendary Pokémon of Kalos, in its never-before-seen Mega Evolved form from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The set introduces a new, never-before-seen rarity, the golden-designed Mega Ultra Rare (WALL), joining the already highly sought-after Special Art Rares. Perfect Balance: Mega Zygarde and the arrival of the third Kalos Legendary
Perfect Balance is the third major expansion in the Mega Evolution series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released on March 27, 2026 by The Pokémon Company. The set features Mega Zygarde-ex, the Mega-Evolved form of the third Legendary Pokémon of Generation VI introduced in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game. The title Perfect Balance reflects Zygarde's own philosophy as the guardian of the ecosystem's balance in the Pokémon world and marks a major narrative milestone in the Mega Evolution arc before the escalating events of subsequent expansions.

Perfect Balance introduces several brand-new Mega Evolutions. Mega Zygarde-ex is the dominant visual identity of the set and features on the expansion's cover card. This rarity is distinguished by its exclusive golden treatment applied to certain Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex cards, making it one of the most sought-after cards of the Mega Evolution era. The WALL joins the set's roster of rarities, which also includes classic Art Rares, Ultra Rares, and the Special Art Rares (SARs) that are always highly prized by collectors.

The Perfect Balance Elite Trainer Box includes a foil promo card, Ptyranidur Illustration Rare, exclusive to this product. Tyranitar is the Rock-Dragon type Fossil Pokémon of Kalos, reinforcing the Z-A identity of the set. Play! Pokémon Prerelease Events
Before its official release on March 27, 2026, Perfect Balance is available as a preview at Play! Pokémon tournaments. Pokémon Mega Evolution Mega Evolution events will be held at select independent stores starting March 14, 2026. These previews allow players to test the new cards in Sealed Deck format with a pre-constructed deck and several booster packs from the expansion, and to receive exclusive event promotions.

Other formats available: In addition to the Elite Trainer Box, the art set, and the Chikorita Tripack, the Perfect Balance line is available in three classic opening formats. The individual booster pack contains a selection of cards drawn from the main set. The [b]6-booster bundle is the intermediate format for opening a large number of boosters without investing in a full display box. The 36-booster display is the standard format for extensive set coverage and group opening sessions. The official release is set for March 27, 2026, with a Play! Pokémon preview starting March 14.
