Structure Deck and Pre-built
Find our ready-to-play Yu-Gi-Oh! Structure Decks: Dark World SR13, Marik SDMA, Chronicles SDCA, Legendary 5D's, Modern Legendary Decks 2026 and Starter Decks for two-player duels.
A Yu-Gi-Oh Structure Deck consists of 40 to 47 ready-to-play cards built around a specific archetype (Dark World, Marik, Blue-Eyes, Six Samurai), and comes with a guide and a paper mat. Konami sells these decks so that three identical copies form the basis of a competitive deck. This category includes recent Structure Decks (Dark World SR13, Marik SDMA), Legendary Decks (5D's, Chronicles, Modern Legendary 2026), and two-player duel Starter Decks.
Structure Deck and Pre-built
The Structure Deck: Entry Point and Foundation for Competitive Deck Building
Structure Decks (coded as SD or SR for Structure Revolution) are the official pre-constructed decks for Yu-Gi-Oh! published by Konami. They occupy a unique place within the game's ecosystem: they serve as both the entry point for new players discovering the TCG and the foundation for competitive players looking to build a deck around a specific archetype. Konami's sales model is clear and unique in the industry: a player who wants to play the archetype in tournaments must purchase three identical copies of the same Structure Deck to have three copies of the key cards, the minimum requirement for competitive deck building.
Structure of a Modern Structure Deck
A Yu-Gi-Oh! Structure Deck contains between 40 and 47 cards depending on the set. The typical breakdown includes a Main Deck of 40 to 43 cards, an Extra Deck of 3 to 8 cards (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link depending on the archetype), and sometimes a few bonus cards in Ultra Rare versions. The box also includes an illustrated rulebook, a paper playmat with the playing areas, and two tokens for tracking positions during gameplay. The deck is designed to be played immediately after opening, without any intermediate deck building.
Why Buy Three Identical Structure Decks
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Rule This allows you to include up to three copies of each card in a deck, excluding cards restricted by the Konami banlist. A Structure Deck typically contains three copies of the archetype's non-key cards, but only one copy of the signature cards (the featured monster, the iconic Spell and Trap cards). Three identical Structure Decks opened and combined therefore provide three copies of each card in the archetype, the necessary foundation for building a tournament deck. This sales strategy is what made Konami Structure Decks so successful: three moderately priced boxes provide a ready-to-play competitive deck, without having to hunt for cards one by one on the secondary market.
Structure Decks in our catalog
The Dark World Structure Deck (SR13-EN) is a modern reprint of the Dark World archetype, a strategy that relies on discarding and playing from the Graveyard, popular among control players. The Structure Deck Marik (SDMA-EN) brings together iconic cards of the character Marik Ishtar (Ra the Dragonwing, Revival Jam, Metal Reflect Slime) in a limited edition that has become rare in sealed form. The Chronicles Deck: The Fallen and Virtuous (SDCA-FR) is part of the recent Chronicles series, with a narrative mix of comic book archetypes. The Legendary 5D's Deck (L5DD) features iconic cards from the 5D's anime (Stardust Dragon, Junk Synchron), and the Modern Legendary Decks 2026 (L26D), available for pre-order, will be the new 2026 standard for the Legendary line.
The Two-Player Starter Deck: A Learning Format
The Starter Deck for 2 Players (STAS) is a Konami-specific format: two complete decks in a single box, designed for an introductory duel. Each deck follows a different playstyle (offensive, control, for example), creating a balanced game right from the first opening. This format is ideal for two players who want to start playing Yu-Gi-Oh! together (parent-child, friends, couple) without having to buy two separate boxes. The included rulebooks explain the game's fundamental mechanics progressively.
Legendary Decks: The Legacy of Anime
The Legendary Decks series is a line dedicated to the iconic decks of Yu-Gi-Oh! anime characters. Each Legendary Deck groups together the signature cards of a character (Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey for the originals; Yusei and Jack for 5D's; and Yuma for Zexal) in a dedicated edition, often with reprints in Ultra Rare or new finishes. These decks are playable (for casual and nostalgia formats), collectible (for anime fans looking to assemble decks of their favorite duelists), and customizable building blocks for alternative formats like Retro Format or Goat Format.
Tournament Legality and Konami Banlist
All cards included in a Structure Deck are legal in official Konami tournaments without any time limit, subject only to the Limited/Forbidden List, which is updated several times a year. Yu-Gi-Oh! does not have a Standard rotation: a card printed in 2005 in a Structure Deck remains potentially playable in 2026 if it is not on the Forbidden List. This lack of rotation is what makes the Yu-Gi-Oh! format unique compared to Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon, and explains why some older Structure Decks retain their value over the long term.
