Building a 40-card deck when you're new to the game is a common hurdle in TCGs. Riftbound's preconstructed decks and starter sets solve this problem: you open the box, take out the cards, and play. No searching for decklists online, no sorting through a collection you don't yet own.

Each Riftbound set offers its own preconstructed products, featuring different champions and strategies.

Origins has launched Proving Grounds, a starter set containing four preconstructed decks, acrylic champion miniatures, battlegrounds, and rune decks. It's the most comprehensive product for discovering Riftbound with multiple players. Four players can sit around a table and start a game with nothing but this starter set. The decks are balanced against each other, ensuring close matches even for beginners.

Spiritforged offers two Champion Decks: Rumble and Fiora. Each deck contains 56 preconstructed cards, a full-size paper playmat, a deck box, a booster pack, and a rulebook with deckbuilding tips. Rumble plays an unpredictable style with area-of-effect damage, while Fiora prefers a methodical duel where every point of damage counts. Purchased together, these two decks form a complete starter kit for two players, offering two radically different playstyles.

Unleashed uses the same format with Vi and Vex. The Vi deck (reference UVSRB03PD01) focuses on aggression: unit buffs, constant pressure, and the Order and Fury runes. Vi's ability reactivates a fatigued unit when you win a combat with 3 excess damage, creating a snowball effect when it works. The Vex deck (UVSRB03PD02) is the opposite: control, attrition, and the Calm and Chaos runes. Vex forces the opponent into losing choices turn after turn and accumulates an advantage through patience.

Unleashed also introduces the Vault (UVSRB03VB01), a new format that combines opening and storage. The box contains 6 booster packs, 36 basic runes (6 of each color), 3 double-sided tokens, and 2 illustrated dividers. The box itself is reusable for storing your cards. It's a good middle ground between a preconstructed deck (too game-oriented for a pure collector) and a display (too expensive for someone who just wants to try the set).

The French version will bring its own starter products. On May 29, 2026, the "First Steps" products and the Origins Champion Decks will be available in French. The Unleashed decks in French will follow on July 31, 2026. For those who want to give Riftbound as a gift, the Champion Decks remain the safest choice. The contents are complete, the packaging is elegant, and the recipient can play immediately without any additional purchases.
