Homeworlds marks the ninth major milestone for Star Wars Unlimited. This card set arrives in October 2026 with a central innovation: the Fortify mechanic, which for the first time allows upgrades to be attached directly to your base, not just to units. This revolution changes the offensive-defensive balance of the game.

Two architectures dominate the emerging meta: Tarkin control and Chewbacca aggression. Grand Moff Tarkin builds a patient, defensive stall. Carbonite Chamber freezes opposing units. The Tarkin Doctrine exhausts threats. Director Krennic rewards upgraded bases. The leader reaches Death Star transformation after nine accumulated resources, creating a new late-game win condition. Meanwhile, an aggro Chewbacca deck has already struck. Chewbacca himself allows exhausted units to attack again. Cheap Ewoks (1-2 cost) synergize: Ewok Archers trigger Ambush if their cost remains ≤3. Adamant Ewoks survive thanks to cost reductions. C-3PO amplifies. Chewbacca's Bowcaster accelerates resource generation. The game plan kills before turn 6.

Ritual Dragon embodies a third dimension: it's the first truly competitive creature in space. With planetary bases (Tatooine, Naboo, Endor, Kashyyyk) and their thematic traits, a creature-focused strategy becomes viable. Qui-Gon Jinn and Grand Admiral Thrawn round out the leadership options. Wookiee Rangers defend Kashyyyk. Zam Wessell offers versatility.

No approach is automatic. Tarkin needs to survive until turn 7 or 8 to transform, creating a huge competitive lag. Chewbacca potentially kills before then. It's all about matchups and timing. Both Spotlight decks (Chewbacca and Tarkin) embody these opposing yet balanced philosophies.

The competitive calendar stretches into late 2026 and 2027. Pre-orders open in late August. Pre-releases arrive in late September at partner stores. The official retail release falls in the first or second week of October. The Utrecht regional qualifiers light up November. Fantasy Flight Games has already teased the 2027 roadmap: Icons (mini-reprint), Legacy of Skywalker (major expansion), System Overload (TBD format implications), Galaxy at War (massive expansion). Homeworlds isn't a clean break—it's a stepping stone to 2027.

For France, DestockTCG offers full access: 24-booster displays (FR/EN), 6-display boxes, Spotlight Chewbacca and Tarkin decks, individual boosters, premium sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats. The first major post-Homeworlds event: Utrecht, November 2026. This is where the true meta will be revealed.

When will Homeworlds be released in France? Pre-launch at the end of September 2026 in partner stores. Official retail release in the first or second week of October. DestockTCG is offering pre-orders starting at the end of August.

Which deck to choose, Tarkin or Chewbacca? Tarkin plays a patient control deck with a late Death Star transformation. Chewbacca attacks aggressively on turns 5-6 with cheap Ewoks. Chewbacca has a more direct entry. Tarkin is more strategic but has competitive lag until turns 7-8.

Is Fortify game-breaking? No. Fortify changes the defense, but it's not automatic. Aggro Chewbacca kills before Tarkin gathers his 9 resources. Matchups decide, not raw stats.

Should I buy boosters or a deck? A Spotlight deck (Chewbacca or Tarkin) gives you a playable list immediately. Boosters are for supplementing or hunting down specific cards.

First post-Homeworlds competition? Utrecht Regionals November 2026. This is the first major official test of the meta.

Are space creatures viable? Ritual Dragon + Tatooine bases = yes, for the first time in SWU. Still niche but competitive at the right cost.

What really changes compared to Set 8? Fortify (base upgrades), viable Space creatures, Death Star as a late win condition, two balanced rival archetypes.

Where can you find Homeworlds products in France? DestockTCG: displays, boxes, Spotlight decks, individual boosters, sleeves, and accessories. Pre-orders end of August, delivery end of September (pre-launch) or October (retail).
