The Zip-Up Album 18-Pocket is Gamegenic's portrait-format zip-up portfolio: 20 pages of 18 pockets, holding 360 cards front and back, in a 262 × 36 × 352 mm case.

It differs from the 24-pocket version in the same line in two ways. It accepts Japanese-sized cards in addition to the standard format, which is important if your collection isn't limited to Magic: The Gathering and includes Pokémon, One Piece, or Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. It's also 6 cm narrower, making it easier to handle with one hand and less bulky on the shelf.

The pockets are loaded from the side, not the top. A card cannot slip out of its pocket when the album is turned over or shaken, a common problem with top-loading portfolios. The volume of each pocket is designed for a double-sleeved card, provided you use Gamegenic sleeves. Using sleeves from another brand may reduce the usable capacity.

The cover is rigid on both sides, preventing the album from warping when stored upright or half-filled. The exterior is made of Refractifyber, a textured coating that refracts light, with a hot-stamped logo; the interior is lined with microfiber and features a silver logo. The zipper runs along three sides and is operated by a wide pull tab, which is easier to grip than a flat slider.

The materials are PVC-free and acid-free, a basic requirement for long-term storage without plasticizer migration to the cards. The Smaug's Mox Amber design is one of six variations released for Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit, released August 14, 2026.
