Goblin Town is the goblin city carved beneath the Misty Mountains, the place where Bilbo gets lost in the tunnels and stumbles upon the Ring. Ultimate Guard has made it one of the six mats in its The Hobbit range, featuring a dominant blue that evokes the subterranean setting.
The mat measures 610 x 350 mm, the standard size for a player's mat. This corresponds to what a player actually occupies on the table: library, graveyard, exile zone, and battlefield, without encroaching on the opponent's space. It's the ideal size for playing in stores or tournaments, where everyone brings their own mat.
The base is made of 2 mm natural rubber. This thickness serves two purposes: it cushions the placement of cards and insulates against a dirty, scratched, or wet table. The backing is non-slip, so the mat won't slide when a card is pulled with a quick movement.
The edges are stitched. This is the detail that separates a durable mat from one that frays: on a raw cut, the fibers around the edges unravel after a few months of being rolled and unrolled during transport. Stitching prevents this.
