The 30-Play Booster box is the standard format for both high-volume openings and drafting. With 420 cards from Secrets of Strixhaven, it offers the most comprehensive view of the SOS set in a single box.

The key advantage is simple: each Play Booster contains a guaranteed Mystic Archive card, ensuring a minimum of 30 Mystic Archive cards. From a pool of 65 distinct cards in the Archive (25 uncommons, 25 rares, 15 mythic rares), 30 openings provide significant statistical coverage of this subset. It's not uncommon to obtain a substantial number of uncommons and several iconic rares from the Archive in a single box.

For drafting, 30 boosters allow for a standard 6-player draft (3 boosters per player, for a total of 18 boosters), while still leaving 12 boosters for a second draft or additional openings. The Play Booster format, designed by Wizards of the Coast to be both playable in Limited and satisfying to open, truly comes into its own in this volume.
