The single Play Booster remains the most direct way to access a Magic: The Gathering expansion. For Marvel Super Heroes, each 14-card booster includes a card from the Marvel Universe bonus sheet (code set MAR), a feature that sets this Universes Beyond expansion apart from most recent Magic sets. This line marks the arrival of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Heroes for Hire into the Magic multiverse, alongside their iconic villains.
The contents of a booster pack draw from the MSH 1-384 (main set) or MAR 41-100 (bonus sheet) range, with a rare or better card in 100% of boosters and up to four rares per pack in the luckiest openings. The expansion introduces two new mechanics: Power-up, a one-time activated ability whose cost is reduced if the permanent entered the same turn, and Teamwork, a variant of Convoke. Three returning mechanics complete the game ecosystem: Boast, Collusion, and Enrage.
