Gem Pack Vol. 5 draws its cast from the Pokémon Horizons animated series: Liko, Roy, and Dot appear alongside Crocogril, Torracat, and Farfetch'd, the evolutions of Paldea's starter Pokémon already seen in Gem Pack Vol. 1. The most sought-after card in the set is a Rare Illustration of Captain Pikachu with Professor Friede, illustrated by Keita Hagiwara.

Like all Gem Packs, all the cards are holographic: there are no non-foil commons in a booster pack. The holographic designs are divided into Elemental Holo (the most common), Master Ball, Gold Foil Stamp, Double Star, and Art Illustration. The drop rate for the rarest designs is listed at 1.8%.

The rest of the pool mixes cute cards (Spheal, Hisui's Growlithe) and rarely reprinted supporting characters (Eevee, Nigirigon), with a first-generation Magneton that is highly prized by collectors.
