What is the purpose of a graded card sleeve?
A PSA (Personal Security Agent) sleeve protects the card, not the case. The edges of the plastic scratch during storage, the label collects dust and wears down, and a damaged sleeve loses resale value even if the grade remains unchanged. The sleeve encases the entire case and keeps it in pristine condition.
Dimensions
3.4 x 5.5 inches, or approximately 86 x 140 mm, with a 1.4-inch flap. This size corresponds to the standard PSA sleeve. BGS, CGC, and SGC sleeves are thicker and do not fit: this is the point to check before buying.
Material
Acid-free, archival-quality crystalline film. The absence of acid and migrating plasticizers prevents the whitish haze that appears on inexpensive sleeves after a few months and prevents chemical transfer to the case.
The flap
The flap is repositionable: it can be opened and closed without leaving any adhesive residue on the tile. The sleeves therefore remain usable for shipping—the buyer can remove the tile without forcing it.
