The Prerelease Kit unlocks Fractured Reality before anyone else. In-store prereleases run from September 25 to October 1, 2026, with the physical release on October 2 and its arrival on MTG Arena and Magic Online on September 29.
The kit contains 6 Play Boosters, the quantity required by the Sealed format: you build a deck of at least 40 cards with what you open, basic lands provided by the host. This format best showcases the set's two mechanics. Empower Jace, present even in commons, creates a blue Jace planeswalker token with [−1]: Prospect 1 and [−3]: Draw a card, accessible regardless of your color. Prepare, returning from Secrets of Strixhaven, transforms creatures into delayed spells: while the creature is prepared, you cast a copy of its spell, unpreparing it.
Also included is a traditional premium promo card of rare or mythic rarity stamped with the prerelease date, a Spindown life counter, and a storage box.
After the event, Fractured Reality Play Boosters will be available individually, in packs of 10, or in boxes of 30 for drafting.
