Four Seasons Ambilight, a series built on a printing process
Ambilight is the name Card Fun gives to its luminous printing treatment: the illustration is bordered by a colored halo that extends the scene beyond the card's frame. Applied to Frozen, the process perfectly suits the subject: the scenery of Arendelle, the ice, and the Northern Lights of the enchanted forest respond beautifully to this type of finish.

The Four Seasons Theme
The collection presents Elsa and Anna throughout the four seasons of Arendelle, based on the two feature films. The original Frozen (2013) remains one of the three highest-grossing films in Disney animation history, and Frozen 2 (2019) has easily surpassed one billion dollars. Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven complete the series' cast.

How to spot a special card
Each booster pack contains 4 cards, except for the one with a special card: it only contains 3. Upon opening, a thinner booster pack indicates a higher card draw in the box. This mechanic is unique to recent Disney Card Fun series.

A series whose four seasons are reflected in the rarity grid
This is the unspoken detail that makes the set so interesting. The title 四季流光系列 ("Four Seasons Light Stream") isn't just marketing hype: four rarity levels each correspond to a season of Arendelle.

SSR — Spring, Spring Messages, 18 visuals
MR — Midsummer Festival, Summer, 12 visuals
AR — Autumn, 18 visuals
WR — Winter, Christmas Invitations, 5 visuals — the shortest seasonal tier
“Ambilight,” what it really is
The word is the official English translation of the Chinese 流光 (liúguāng), “flowing light.” Card Fun rendered it as “Ambilight,” which is a marketing choice, not a literal translation.

An important point to avoid misinformation: this isn't a standard printing process at Card Fun, unlike what a "refractor" is at Topps. No other Card Fun series bears this name, and the publisher doesn't release any technical documentation about it. It's the name of a series, whose visual identity is based on iridescent effects, and which culminates in the SEC tier.

The pinnacle: the SEC cards with inlaid mother-of-pearl
The 6 SEC cards — 流光螺钿镶嵌卡 — feature the 螺钿 (raden) process, the traditional technique of inlaying mother-of-pearl into lacquer. On the FS-SEC06 card, dedicated to Olaf, the silhouette is in iridescent mother-of-pearl that changes color depending on the angle, against a dark lacquer background. This is the signature card of the series.

The rest of the grid — 219 cards, 15 tiers
GSP Coronation of the Queen (32 cards, gold foil, likely numbered /99) · SR Magical Memories (36, the largest tier) · DSP "Door" Characters (12) · DP Queen's Wardrobe (12) · GP Anniversary Art Stamps (12) · BP Special Character Card (10) · SSP Side by Side (12) · SP Collectible Line Art (12) · UR Christmas Party (10) · OR Olaf Poster (12).

A detail collectors will notice: the GP tier includes the date 11/27/2013, the US release date of Frozen.
