What “Tier 1 Wave 1” Means
At Kayou, the Tier isn't a quality level: it's the price of the booster pack in yuan.
1 yuan, Tier 1: 36 boosters per box, minimum hit guaranteed R
2 yuan, Tier 2: 30 boosters, minimum hit SR
5 yuan, Tier 3: 20 boosters, minimum hit SR
10 yuan, Tier 4: 18 boosters, minimum hit SSR
“Wave” means “Series.” This box is therefore the 1 Yuan Series 1 display, the very first 1 yuan display produced by Kayou, in 2021, at the launch of the Naruto line. Its Chinese name is 临之章, the Chapter of Rin, as Kayou chapters are named after the nine syllables of the Kuji-in.

The Scale of This Wave
T1W1 is the foundation of the line, with a deliberately short scale: R, SR, SSR, UR, SP.
The GP (Gold Pack) rarity is exclusive to Tier 1 but only appears starting with Series 2. CR and ZR cards belong to the 2 Yuan tier, TR, TGR, and NR to the 5 Yuan tier, and HR, SLR, BP, and SE to the 10 Yuan tier. There's no top tier here, but a first-series status that no subsequent wave can claim.
What's in a Booster Pack
Each booster pack contains 4 R cards plus a variable slot. In a box of 36, approximately 16 boosters contain a foil R, approximately 14 an SR, and 5 to 6 an SSR or better.
Language and License
Cards are in Simplified Chinese. Kayou holds the licenses for Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and Boruto, granted by Pierrot China, the official animation studio. The rarity codes GP, CP, CR, and NR are specific to the Chinese editions.
